The Madison chapter of WISPIRG held a brainstorming session in preparation for lobbying efforts to take place in conjunction with six other schools in Wisconsin.

UW Madison students Scott Thompson, Scott Rubin, Laura Goldberg, and other interns in Big Red Go Green campaign held a summit for the Wisconsin Student Climate Coalition, a coalition of 7 schools across Wisconsin dedicated to introducing strong climate change legislation in Wisconsin before the end of 2009. Students from Stevens Point and Ripon traveled to Madison to discuss the goals and strategies of the campaigns. Four media outlets covered The Summit including both campus papers and two influential blogs posting links to the articles.

The BRGG campaign also ran a Green Jobs panel with WI state Representative Spencer Black, WISPIRG Field Director Bruce Speight, and Environment Wisconsin Director Dan Kohler. There were over 50 students in attendance and Rep. Spencer Black expressed his strong support for moving global warming legislation ahead!
