Join me at the Resolve to Fight Poverty 2011 Conference at the University of Maryland, College Park.
Today, the people of eastern Africa are experiencing the first famine officially declared by the U.N. in nearly 30 years. With severe drought and an insurgent group blocking foreign aid, millions are starving.
In the U.S. poverty levels are at the highest they have been since 1993. Families across the world need our help to put food on the table.
You've probably volunteered before, at a soup kitchen or food bank, or donated money or food to help people in need. Come to the Resolve Conference to learn how to do more. You'll meet students from across the country, hear the latest on the issues, and learn the skills to take action – the more people who come, the bigger impact we can have.
Everyone should have a roof over their head, enough food to eat, and access to clean drinking water. Together, we can make that vision a reality.
