Global warming is an urgent problem with real consequences for Wisconsin’s environment including our farms, forests and lakes.

That’s why WISPIRG students are working to set strong science-based limits on global warming pollution statewide. We can do this and benefit economically by using more homegrown, clean energy like wind and solar power and we can use energy more efficiently.

WISPIRG is urging our state Legislature to adopt the Wisconsin Safe Climate Act (SB81), a global warming solutions plan.

We know we can make this happen if we build enough public support.

Letter	Global warming is one of the biggest problems we face. With comprehensive global warming legislation stalled in Congress, it falls to states like Wisconsin to lead America down the right path. Fortunately, the Legislature already took a big step in that direction in 2006, when it committed the state to using more homegrown, clean energy, such as wind and solar power, and biomass from our farms. Now it's time to take the next step. Please support the Wisconsin Safe Climate Act (SB81/AB157)to reduce global warming emissions to 1990 levels by 2020. Sincerely,
