Activist Workshop in Madison
WISPIRG in conjunction with the Public Interest Network is organizing a Free Activist Workshop on Thursday, February 11th from 6-9pm.
Show-up ready for action. We will spend the day moving between large group overviews and small groups to give people an opportunity to learn and internalize skills.
We will focus on the skills that passionate activists need to know how to do.

6:00 – 6:15 Welcome/Introduction
6:15 – 6:30 Overview of Working with the Media
6:30 – 7:15 Small Groups: Planning a News Conference
7:15 – 7:30 Overview of Pitching Reporter
7:30 – 8:00 Small Groups: Pitching Reporters
8:00 – 8:15 Break, Meet fellow area activist
8:15 – 8:30 Overview of Volunteer Recruitment
8:30 – 8:55 Small Groups: Recruitment Outreach
8:55 – 9:00 Wrap-up
The trainers will be experienced staff from WISPIRG and the Public Interest Network. It's a chance to meet some of the people behind the e-mail addresses. This event is open to the public, feel free to spread the word to other activists.
The training will be held at the WISPIRG office at 122 State Street, Suite 309, Madison, WI 53703.
